Anavah

“Clothe yourselves with humility toward one another, because, ‘God opposes the proud but gives grace to the humble’” (1 Peter 5:5).

Once again, I find a Biblical mandate to “clothe myself with humility.” Curious, I decided to search the original meaning of this greek word.

Anavah comes from the Hebrew root “Ayin-Nun-Vav” and means humility or modesty. Why am I not surprised?

With this we can conclude that true humility in our dress is demonstrated by modest discretion.

So, dress to the nines! But do so in a way that exudes anavah!
